If this were a movie, we'd be starting the second act. Our Captain is dead - betrayed by a crew member. Our ship has sustained heavy damage. Half of it is dark. A quarter of it is on fire.
But not everything is grim. We're well armed, and we're travelling in groups. We have Technical teams moving to put out the fires. And we have Technicians getting ready to turn the lights back on.
We also have a new Captain. He's untried, untested. But he knows the ropes, and has something to prove to the crew.
In the movies, it'd be time for a speech.
I know I risk getting eaten by a giant shark just for starting this monologue, but I need to make something perfectly clear:
The Star's Fury needs you.
And I don't mean just the Engineers, or just the Troopers. Not just the Pilots, and not just the Mechanics. Not just the Medics.
All of you.
I said it before: our ship is damaged. Half of it is dark. A quarter is on fire.
We need the Techs putting out fires and turning the lights back on.
We need the Medics ready to patch up the wounded.
We need the Pilots prepped for dustoff (I know, Pilots - I'm working on getting you to the Hangar).
And we need the Union defending our doorstep, sweeping the halls, and providing escort.
I need your input, your feedback. I need you providing suggestions. And I need you to understand that I have to put the safety of this ship first. The Fury may be damaged, but we're Infection-free so far, and that makes us the safest ship in the fleet.
Today, we're going to put out the fire in Medical.
Today, we're going to turn the lights back on in Engineering.
Today, we're guarding the Fury from incursion.
Today, we're sweeping the corridors to make sure we don't have any uninvited guests.
We can do this, but only if we're together.
What say you?
